Shay Locomotive added to New SoundScapes!Tuesday, June 12, 2007Brinston Sound Images is proud to release a new collection of Shay sounds collected from the Museum of Science and Technology in Ottawa. The Merrill & Ring Lumber Co., Ltd. No. 3 was acquired by the Museum in 1974 and restored to its former glory when used by the British Columbia forestry industry before 1950. Today, the No. 3 is run twice weekly over the summer months by the Bytown Railway Society ( http://www.bytownrailwaysociety.ca/ ) who were kind enough to let us ride and record. I also recorded some sounds from the museum's 50-ton diesel that ran the same day. BSI wish to thank both the Museum staff and the Bytown Railway Society team who were great to work with. The new sound collections (soundscapes) are available to registered users of AirHorn. |
